New Fundraising Workshop

I have recently developed a new workshop proposal that is being considered at a variety of national conferences. The content is ideal for any audience interested in improving their fundraising capacity as well as problem-solving skills.

Workshop Description:

Consistently successful fundraising eludes many organizations. Leaders assume poorly attended events, low response rates, and high turnover are causes of their misfortunate. These assumptions lead organizations astray as their problem-solving focuses on symptoms rather than causes. Symptomatic solutions tend to overcomplicate and misdirect leaders away from fundraising?s primary functions. When a root cause is identified, solutions are typically limited to current knowledge and skills, and constrained to process improvements and incremental changes.

Learning Outcomes:

>> Recognize the (3) functions of fundraising and the (3) dysfunctions that limits its success.

>> Utilize root cause analysis in fundraising planning.

>> Distinguish between first-order and second-order change as applied to fundraising plans.

Participants are introduced to the three functions of a fundraising plan and the three dysfunctions that limit the plans progress. In addition, leaders learn how increase their problem solving capacities by using root cause analysis and how to distinguish between first and second-order change. By combining the functions/dysfunctions framework with these two problem solving techniques, leaders learn how to create strategic solutions that will increase the effectiveness and efficiency of their fundraising plan.

This workshop can be formatted to accomadate a small group (i.e. boards) or larger groups (conference breakout session) If you are is interested in learning more about this and other fundraising workshops, please contact me.
